The values of Pancasila (Indonesian State Philosophy with five principles) seem now to be marginalized in political practices. This crucial issue has been discussed during the seminar on “Construction of State Values of Political Parties with regard the upcoming Presidential Election of 2009” held by the Palembang-based Sriwijaya University (UNSRI) in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), taking place in Palembang, Aryaduta Hotel, on 4th of June 2009.

Countdown to 9 April 2009! Indonesia’s legislative election is just 50 days away. The Habibie Center (THC) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation have initiated to carry out training on “Enhancing the Capability and Competitiveness of Prospective Woman Legislators towards the 2009 General Election”, taking place in Novotel, Bogor, from 17-18 February 2009. The training aimed to enhance capacity of woman legislator candidates in securing seats in upcoming parliament of 2009-2014.
